Shaq to Suns

Wow. With Miami at the bottom of the standings in the East, and while Shaq still has some market value, I think it was a wise decision for Miami. And getting Shawn Marion I guess was a bonus. Now, all they have to do is start rebuilding the core. Dwayne Wade, Shawn Marion, and say Dwight Howard? If that were possible, then Miami might just give Boston a run for its money … maybe next year. hehehe

But Phoenix isn’t getting a bad deal either. They have had problems with the Spurs always getting in the way since … forever. Amarie isn’t in the same form as he was before that major injurie, allowing Howard to gain the title as the next promising big man. I observed this when they were playing in the USA team, something about Amarie’s game hasn’t quite looked right.

The question still hangs in my mind though. Does 2 wrongs make a right? Will Shaq and Amarie be able to stand up against Duncan? Miami prepared for this with the Alonzo and Shaq combination in 2004. Is Phoenix trying to do the same?

Trading Marion will also allow other Phoenix guards to have more playing time and step up. I can’t wait to see if this block buster trade pays off for Phoenix in this year’s NBA Finals and for Miami in the years to come.
