Since Ikariam is celebrating its 1st birthday, Gameforge has decided to give its players a treat. If players check the email address they used to sign up for an Ikariam account, they will get the activation code for a coupon worth 10 Ambrosia.

This was a little tricky at first since the instructions for acquiring the coupon said “click on the coupon icon”. After going through the boards, it was suggested that one should

• click on Ikarium PLUS (top part of the screen)
• click on Acquire Ambrosia (left part of the screen)
• choose CANADA as the country (drop down box under Order Ambrosia)
• click on the coupon icon that appears
• enter the activation code from your email
• logout then re-login your Ikariam account

Once logged back on, your Ikarium PLUS should show the 10 additional ambrosia you could spend on either a better interface (fun, but after a few minutes, you’ld get bored) or 20% increase in resource production (you get to choose if you want it to be wood, marble, sulfur, cystal, or wine … and under a 0.3.0 environment, I think the choice is pretty obvious). These “bonuses” will last for 7 days.

And I was just reminded of the Premium Trader when you click on your trading post. For 3 ambrosia, you can “convert” one resource type to another. So the 10 ambrosia entitles you to 3 resource conversions which might be better when you are in dire need of a specific resource (can’t wait for wood to accumulate for that level 8 palace upgrade, why not convert your luxury goods into wood ^_^).
